As a government entity, Sport New Zealand Ihi Aotearoa is proud to be the guardian of our country's play, active recreation and sporting system, from grassroots to elite sport. We do this through partnerships with national sport and recreation organisations, regional sports trusts, central government bodies, councils and other key stakeholders.

Sport NZ is seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Experience Consultant to lead and deliver high-quality learning experiences across the Play, Active Recreation, and Sport (PARS) sector. This 10 Month fixed-term role is pivotal in advancing our sector-wide learning strategy, enhancing capability, and championing innovative learning design and delivery.

Reporting to the People & Culture Lead, the Learning Experience Consultant will:

  • Lead the strategic approach to learning and development across the PARS sector.
  • Champion learner-centric design and best practice learning principles.
  • Manage and improve learning tools such as the Sport Tutor LMS.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Build capability within sector organisations to deliver impactful learning.
  • Maintain quality assurance through evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Foster strong relationships across Sport NZ, HPSNZ, and external partners.

The successful individual will have:

  • 10+ years' experience in learning and development, with a strong track record of strategic impact.
  • Expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and learning technologies.
  • Strong facilitation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and a certificate in adult education.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of Sport NZ's role as a Crown Entity.
