*Relocation opportunity We're looking for an experienced accountant who's ready to step up into a role that blends technical expertise with business leadership. This is a unique opportunity to join a well known Accounting firm in Masterton, where you'll play a pivotal role in both client delivery and running the day-to-day of the local firm. About the role:*As Senior Accountant / Business Manager, you'll split your time between:

  • Accounting and Advisory (50%) – producing and reviewing accounts, providing taxation advice, and liaising with clients in a public practise setting
  • Practice Management (50%) – overseeing workflow allocation, invoicing, staff management, and supporting the smooth running of the office (with additional support from our Auckland head office)

You'll lead a small, close-knit team of 5, with 3 accountants and 2 administrators reporting directly to you.

*About you:*We're seeking someone who is confident across both accounting and people leadership. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in an accounting practice environment
  • Strong background in taxation advisory, accounts preparation, and client engagement
  • Proven ability to review work, allocate workflow, and manage a small team
  • CA or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential – expired or past CAANZ membership will still be considered where experience is relevant.
