Mō mātou - About us –
When you join Presbyterian Support Central (PSC), you're becoming part of something truly special, a not-for-profit organisation that's been helping people for more than 115 years.
Everything we do is about supporting people at the most vulnerable times of their lives, whether that's an older person needing care and connection, or a family working through tough times.
The friendly and welcoming Willard Home exudes warmth and homeliness.
Willard Home has strong community connections and the sound of children's laughter often fills the halls – that's because the home has strong ties with the neighbouring school and nearby childcare centre.
At Willard Home we embrace Enliven's philosophy of care. That means we'll take every opportunity to make sure our Elders have companionship, spontaneity, fun, meaningful activity and a sense of purpose in their life here.
Together, we make a lasting difference.
Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Clinical Coordinator at Willard Home will support the Home Manager and Clinical Nurse Manager to provide a safe environment for residents and staff. Their focus is on effective day to day co-ordination and supervision of resident care, and provision of professional leadership and support to the RNS, ENs and Healthcare Assistants.
The Clinical Coordinator will actively function as a clinical leader and take responsibility for clinical decisions while motivating staff to use initiative in problem solving.
Working as a part of the senior clinical team, you will need to be flexible to provide on-call cover on a shared basis to ensure there is always senior RN cover available. The clinical team work closely together, and you will be well supported to deliver high standards of clinical care to our residents.
The role is based at Willard Home in Palmerston North and will offer 8-hour dayshifts, rotating days, 4 on 2 off, 8.30am to 17.00pm. Whilst hours are regular there may be times when flexibility is required to meet the needs of the residents.
Mō koe - About you
As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect.
You will be an instrumental person in fostering the right environment for everyone to enjoy a safe and healthy home to live or work, where residents are at the centre of our decision making and staff work together to achieve positive outcomes for people.
In addition, you will:
- Be an experienced RN, ready to take the next step in their career.
- Have at least 2 years' experience in aged care
- Support the team to deliver quality of care and outcomes for our Elders
- Foster strong positive working relationships with other team members, residents and their whānau
- Post Graduate Certificate in Nursing is preferred, but not essential
