Coordinator, Sub-Regional Urology Service

This is a fixed-term 0.8 FTE role for one year and combines administration responsibilities with a central focus on coordinating service delivery across three sites-MidCentral, Whanganui and Wairarapa.

About the role

As the Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to work alongside the urology teams based at MidCentral, Whanganui and Wairarapa to implement the expansion of the Sub-Regional Urology Service and embed new processes and systems across all three districts.

This role would be responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of the service and regional coordination of urology SMOs, nursing staff, patients, clinics, and theatre access, working in close partnership with the Operational Leads at each site with a particular focus upon ensuring the effective and efficient running of the sub-regional urology service.

Ensuring that the services agreed processes and systems are followed and that these reflect the organisational standards for service delivery, working collaboratively with Operational Leads and others as relevant to achieve compliance with the Health Target Plans across all three districts.

This role demands a good understanding of health care in the Planned Care environment.

  • A strong collaborator: Able to foster effective teamwork and partnerships across disciplines/team roles and hospital sites.
  • Committed to equity: Demonstrated experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a healthcare setting

About the Sub-Regional Urology Service

Palmerston North Regional Hospital operates the Sub-Regional Urology service across MidCentral, Whanganui and Wairarapa districts by providing acute, planned care, surgery, outpatient clinics and a range of diagnostic services. The Sub-regional Urology service is designed around a "Hub and Spoke" service delivery model of care.
