Why this role is important to us:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive accountant to support our finance function. Working closely with the NZ Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing key reconciliations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the monthly reporting and consolidation process.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Accounting Operations & Transactions

  • Process journal entries including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank feeds, credit card transactions, intercompany transactions, and invoice requests
  • Ensure accuracy of financial documentation
  • Manage weekly supplier payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing in line with payment terms
  • 2 direct reports (Finance Officers)
  • Act as the finance back-office expert within the business on day-to-day finance matters

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

  • Perform month-end accounting activities including prepayments, accruals, trial balance reviews and store accounting
  • Reconcile and monitor bank accounts, payment gateway, accounts receivable, and revenue
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliation files and gift card accounts
  • Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow

Compliance & Financial Controls

  • Review non-performing customer list and assess provisions for bad debts
  • Knowledge of NZ IFRS technical requirements

Special Projects and Frameworks

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the transfer pricing framework
  • Assist with the consolidation and reporting of intercompany accounts and financial statements across entities.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Qualified CA/CPA (advantageous)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in similar roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of IFRS standards
  • Experience working in the Travel, Hotel or Tourism industry would be highly advantageous
  • High attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
