About the Role

In this key role, you'll use your FMCG knowledge and experience to drive sales and fuel the company's revenue growth. You will build and nurture strong relationships with customers and play a key role in the company's continued expansion. You are a self-starter and able to hit the ground running; knowing how to run call cycles, create and produce sales reports and are confident in cold calling, negotiating and closing the deal.

Your strong commercial acumen will help shape and execute the sales strategy. You will thrive in a hands-on sales role, bringing energy, initiative and enjoy balancing independence with teamwork. You'll be instrumental in elevating the brand and expanding market reach across the region. This role covers the greater Waikato area with occasional travel outside the region, overnight stays are uncommon. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to achieve sales targets and distribution goals
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty
  • Oversee order management, ensuring timely and accurate fulfilment in collaboration with the factory
  • Work autonomously to manage your monthly call plan and pursue new business opportunities identifying local market opportunities to drive sales and profitability
  • Be accountable for your work and have experience producing accurate reports including; weekly plans and regional performance summaries
  • Support Directors with strategic business planning and proposal submissions, as and when required, ensuring compliance and competitiveness
  • Lead marketing initiatives including promotions and on-site tasting opportunities

Must Haves

  • Minimum 3-5 years FMCG territory sales manager experience.
  • A passion for sustainability - you believe in the product's environmental benefits and eco-friendly offering.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively. You don't need a manager to tell you what to do - you're proactive and results-driven.
  • Credibility and experience to negotiate contracts and work with high-value clients.
  • You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed, whether it's assisting with installations or managing product deliveries, lifting a crate or two does not phase you.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships at all levels, from store staff to senior management.
  • Effective at juggling multiple tasks, prioritising, and staying organised.
