Digital Media Advisor

The PSA is looking for a skilled digital media content creator who would love to drive highly relevant social media activity for New Zealand's largest union at a time of significant political, and industrial change.

The PSA's 95,000 members are at the heart of the issues and events that will shape the 2026 General Election, and you would be right in the midst of it.

You'll use the full range of your strategic social media skills to create a range of digital content to support the PSA's relentless campaign against cuts to public, community, health care and local government services, and the jobs of members who do this work.

You'd be joining a collaborative and passionate, seven-person communications and campaigns team whose work supports the PSA's industrial and political objectives.

You'll start working in the role from mid-January 2026 to early May 2026.

What we're looking for

To thrive in this role you'll:


• Love developing all forms of digital content and developing strategies to maximise its impact


• Have a strong understanding of our social media platforms, particularly TikToK


• Be experienced in moderating social media


• Be comfortable capturing videos and photographs, and be able to edit them to a high standard


• Have an eye for visual design and detail


• Be able to work in a dynamic environment where the needs can quickly change


• Be well-versed in the current social media, media, political and union environments.

The ability to use Canva and Premier Pro is essential, and experience with the Adobe Suite desirable.

The PSA Te Pūkenga Here Tikanga Mahi is committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori will therefore be an advantage.

What we're offering

The salary range is Salary range: $100,285 to $134,450. New employees' starting rate is based upon previous relevant experience and in line with internal relativities.
