Tirohanga whānui o ngā pūkenga matua | Overview of core capabilities
- Develop and deliver internal and external communications for a wide range of Council projects and services.
- Create high-quality, engaging content across Council-owned channels, including social media, digital news, print publications, and the intranet.
- Support strategic communications planning for priority programmes and initiatives.
- Collaborate with leaders and project teams to implement best-practice communication approaches.
- Provide tools, advice, and support to help teams communicate effectively.
- Monitor public sentiment and media coverage and help manage reputational risks.
- Champion our brand and ensure consistent, engaging messaging across all channels.
- Work closely with our Engagement team to support consultation and community engagement activities.
Ngā tohu me ngā wheako | Qualifications and experience
- A tertiary qualification in communications, PR, journalism or a related field, and a minimum of two years' experience in a communications role.
- Strong knowledge of public relations, corporate communications, and engagement.
- Experience integrating communications across digital channels (web, social media, email).
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Strategic agility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for community-focused work.

We are looking to appoint between $90,060 and $105,952 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
