Location: Manawatu
We are looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager with a background in heavy commercial vehicles to join our growing Team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop to ensure operational efficiencies are achieved and service excellence is delivered.
Duties and key responsibilities include:
- Manage the workshop to meet operational requirements and ensure product quality.
- Identify and manage resource levels to meet timelines against planned activities.
- Co-ordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders and manage escalating issues.
- Identify training and development opportunities within the team and champion upskilling of the workforce.
- Provide and facilitate technical advice.
- Understand workshop equipment performance, capability, maintenance requirements and costs.
- Conduct work in a manner that is safe and consistent with Royans policies and procedures.
What you'll need to bring
- Trade qualifications as a diesel mechanic, spray painter, panel beater, body maker or boiler maker. Previous experience in heavy vehicles is a must.
- Strong computer literacy, including the ability to learn our computer system (iBodyshop) to deliver an efficient and effective service to our business.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive work ethic.
- Previous experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve positive and consistent outcomes.
