permanent role
based at either our
Mangere or Pokeno site
, with travel between sites as part of the adventure. Join us and help set the standard for what a great workplace can be

You'll be leading transformative projects, driving cultural change, and embedding practical, people-focused solutions that make a difference every day. You'll be a key player in our Synlait Safe journey, helping build capability and resilience across our high-performing sites.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Support the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to implement the Synlait Safe strategy and annual plan throughout the business
  • Lead the implementation of specific training programmes within your portfolio
  • Provide expert advice and support to address specific hazards and risks across the business
  • Champion change and culture transformation

You'll bring your strengths and expertise to support our people on their 'Synlait Safe' journey, with a focus on building capability through practical, solution-focused training and continuous improvement. This is a key role within our business, suited to either a seasoned Health and Safety professional or someone with operational experience in complex manufacturing or high-hazard environments.

Skills And Experience
Whether you're a seasoned HSW professional or bring operational experience from complex, high-hazard environments this is your chance to step into a role where your voice matters and your impact is visible. This role calls for strong communication and engagement skills, a solid understanding of critical risk management, and the ability to provide impactful leadership to enhance safety and wellbeing performance.

  • 3–5 years' experience in health and safety, with a strong foundation in safety systems and change leadership
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-hazard environments
  • A tertiary qualification in Health & Safety (NEBOSH, Post Grad, Diploma — all welcome)
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong, trusted relationships
  • Solid knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations
  • Bonus will be project management experience
