Join a team that keeps Rotorua moving Rotorua Lakes Council is on the lookout for a passionate Site Traffic Management Specialist to help us deliver safe, efficient, and people-focused operations across our worksites and events. You'll play a vital role in planning, setting up, and monitoring temporary traffic management solutions that keep our roads safe and our community connected.
In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for implementing NZTA-compliant traffic management plans, ensuring all sites operate smoothly and safely. Every day will bring something new — from coordinating with contractors and council teams to monitoring sites, managing equipment, and responding to real-time changes. You'll take pride in protecting workers, road users, and the public, while helping maintain the flow of our vibrant city.
We're looking for someone with an STMS Certification (Category A/B or C), a full New Zealand driver's licence, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team. You'll need a strong understanding of traffic safety, solid communication skills, and the motivation to uphold high standards of safety, care, and professionalism. Physical fitness and a hands-on attitude are key — every day you'll be out in the field ensuring things run safely and efficiently.
