Based in Rotorua

Exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team and provide technical supervision and support in the provision of electrical repairs, maintenance and compliance oversight to ensure a safe, resilient and reliable work environment at our site in Rotorua.

You will be the person who takes ownership of all electrical health and safety risks, applies your expertise and proven experience to oversee critical electrical infrastructure at the site, ensuring immediate response for all electrical issues to ensure the Science Engineering team has continuity of functionality to focus and deliver their research, energy and technical projects on time.

You will take the lead in the delivery and provision of all repairs and maintenance of electrical distribution infrastructure, ensuring they are carried out in a timely manner. Be part of the team that is responsible to ensure a high level of security of the buildings and property at Scion with a focus to ensure operations are continuous with no downtime.

The key knowledge and skills required to be successful in the role are:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a commercial or institutional environment.
  • Strong background in electrical distribution systems, high/medium/low voltage networks., UPS and emergency power systems.
  • Experience supporting electrical and building infrastructure maintenance.
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills leading to effective relationship with staff, researchers, contractors and service providers.
  • Demonstrated leadership in electrical health and safety, risk management and compliance.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work while responding to emergencies under pressure.
