Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our finance and accounting operations, specifically payroll and accounts payable focused.

About us

Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre is a hub for diverse creative expression in the heart of Ōtautahi, Christchurch.  The earthquake restoration of the site is now finished, all but two of the 22 stone buildings are restored, strengthened and in use.

Our purpose is to foster, promote, facilitate, and encourage the interest of art, culture, education, and other creative endeavours, through the provision of accommodation for such activities.

The role:

It is a part-time role, working up to 30 hours per week. You'll be working as part of a small team, and closely with the Finance and Administration Manager.

What you will need:

  • Payroll processing experience, preferably MYOB Acumatica.
  • Accounts payable experience and competency.  (Compiling, coding, inputting and reconciling. Also prepping and processing payment runs)
  • M365 proficiency
  • Experience with accounts receivable functions (as back-up) would be an advantage.
  • Experience with bank and cash book functions (as back-up) would be an advantage.
  • Able to work quickly and accurately, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able manage office duties including purchasing of office and kitchen supplies for the wider team.
  • Be able to handle own administration and electronic filing efficiently.
  • Be reliable, have initiative and a logical thinker.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to help,
  • Have the right to legally work in New Zealand.
