Key Account Manager

Castlegate James has been helping Australian and New Zealand farmers and animal nutritionists achieve optimum livestock production targets through a range of high performance, specialty co–product stock feeds. Castlegate James products are mainly directed at the ruminant feed market, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, and goats. Our product range includes major grains, protein meals, manufactured moist feeds, traditional grain mixes, sugar/starch/energy mixes, pellets and an extensive range of co-product stock feeds which have been sourced from the food and beverage industries around New Zealand.
Reporting to the GM Commercial, you will create and implement strategies that will deliver sustainable results. As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing your client base area. You will assist with the growth of the Castlegate James brand and products as a leading co-product supplier that delivers the highest productivity to their customer base.
To be successful in this challenging yet highly rewarding position, you will possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:
- 3+ years of Account Management experience in an on-farm sales role. Technical product or stock feed sales preferred.
- A Dairy background or Dairy market experience would be a benefit.
- Ability to create business proposals for new and existing opportunities.
- Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with management to ensure growth attainment through effective planning and execution.
- Maintain up-to-date information relating to customer activities.
- Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to your customers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
- Assist in the delivery of technical and nutritional information to customers and their advisors in the territory to generate profitable sales.
- Well-developed negotiation skills which will result in closure of a sale.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a strong team environment.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven relationship building skills with a strong customer focus.
- Be proactive, show initiative and have a "can do" attitude.
- Positive and constructive attitude with a focus on results and building a strong team culture.
