About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at the newly opened Marlborough Wine and Food Experience. As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our hospitality business, ensuring the smooth running of all our events and activities. This full-time position is based in Blenheim, Central Marlborough, and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and coordinate all operational aspects of our hospitality business, including event planning, logistics, and resource allocation
  • Oversee the delivery of exceptional customer service and guest experiences across all our wine and food-related events and activities
  • Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to maximise efficiency and productivity
  • Manage and lead a team of hospitality professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback
  • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of all events and activities
  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's strategic and business plans

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in a similar operations management role within the hospitality or tourism industry
  • Proven track record of managing diverse teams and driving operational excellence
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the Marlborough wine and food scene or a keen interest in the industry
  • Tertiary qualification in hospitality, tourism, or a related field is desirable
  • Hard working individual who is able to work evenings and weekends
