Test Analyst (Fixed Term – 2 years)

We're looking for a talented Test Analyst to join our Programme team on a two-year fixed term. This role is all about making sure our software and systems perform exactly as they should, supporting better decision-making, smoother services, and a great experience for our people and our region.

Ngā Mahi ngā Takohanga Matua rānei | Duties include:

You'll be the testing expert in the room - analysing requirements, designing smart test strategies, and executing both manual and automated tests across a variety of programme deliverables. Along the way, you'll:

• Turn business and technical requirements into detailed test conditions, cases, and scripts
• Plan, execute, and document tests that validate functionality, performance, integrations, workflows, and data accuracy
• Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and help drive resolutions
• Support User Acceptance Testing — prepping cases, guiding users, and capturing feedback
• Maintain full traceability from requirements through tested outcomes
• Provide clear reporting on testing progress and quality metrics

You'll also play a key part in supporting project teams, contributing to continuous improvement, and helping ensure our systems are ready to support our people and our community.

Ngā Pūkenga me Ngā Wheako e Hiahia ana | Skills and experience required:

• A tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience
• Software testing training/certification (e.g., ISTQB Foundation) or proven testing expertise
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and UAT processes
• Experience writing test plans, test scripts, and documentation
• At least 2 years' experience in a software testing role (ideally with data-focussed or ERP environments)
• Great communication skills and confidence working with diverse stakeholders
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query
