Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a Senior Test Analyst, you'll be a recognised specialist in software quality assurance and test automation. You'll lead testing strategy, implement automation, and provide independent assurance across our digital platforms and integrations.
You'll work closely with Agile delivery squads, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure our solutions are robust, secure, and user-centred. This role is key to uplifting testing maturity and embedding a quality engineering mindset across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and applying test strategies for multi-system projects
- Performing functional, non-functional, and automated testing
- Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Providing assurance on release readiness and compliance
- Mentoring and uplifting testing capability across teams

You're an experienced test professional with a passion for quality and automation. You bring strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
Extensive experience in software testing and automation
Proven ability to lead testing for complex digital projects
- Familiarity with tools like Cypress, Selenium, Postman, Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of NZ public sector compliance standards
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong communication skills

Hours of work – Permanent full-time position - From time to time, as required, the role may require work outside of normal work hours for emergency and flood response and to represent Environment Canterbury at meetings and events with partners, other agencies, and the community. Location - This position is predominantly based at 200 Tuam Street, Christchurch
Salary- The indictive salary range for role is $87,491 to $108,078 per annum depending on skills and experience. The specific salary will be discussed at interview stage.
