Role Overview:

Rosewood Matakauri is seeking an experienced and dedicated Breakfast Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will craft elegant, high-quality breakfast dishes that reflect the calibre of the Rosewood brand and showcase the best of seasonal, local New Zealand produce. You will play a key part in ensuring our guests begin their day with an unforgettable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute a refined breakfast menu featuring both classic and innovative offerings.
  • Ensure consistency, presentation, flavour, and timing meet Rosewood Matakauri's luxury standards.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in a high-performing kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team on seasonal updates, specialty items, and enhancements.
  • Uphold strict standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a chef, ideally within luxury lodges, boutique hotels, or high-end dining environments.
  • Strong understanding of breakfast cuisine, contemporary techniques, and elegant presentation.
  • Passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to crafting memorable guest experiences.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and during peak seasons.
  • Collaborative team approach with excellent communication skills.
