On The Point – Lake Rotorua is a 5-star Qualmark Gold luxury lodge set on a private peninsula overlooking Lake Rotorua. We pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional guest experience with refined cuisine that celebrates seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This is a rare opportunity to work in a high-end, boutique environment alongside our Head Chef and dedicated lodge team.

About the Role

As Chef de Partie, you will:

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Support menu development, including bespoke menus for private events and weddings.
  • Ensure portion control, consistency, and food presentation to fine dining standards.
  • Assist with stock management, ordering, and minimising wastage.
  • Contribute to creating memorable dining experiences by liaising with guests and accommodating dietary needs.
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards.

About You

We are looking for a professional who brings:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an à la carte role within fine dining or luxury hospitality.
  • Culinary qualifications (or equivalent proven experience).
  • Strong technical skills and a genuine passion for fresh, seasonal produce.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and allergen protocols.
  • A collaborative, positive attitude and commitment to excellence.
