This Commercial Business Partner opportunity is a ten month maternity cover, with some exciting strategic and growth plan execution.  This role is suited to someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact to gross margins, volume, and add value. 

The role requires an urgent start (early Nov) and will be a 10 month FTC.  You will have flexible working, ownership over your role and decision making, and expected to make change where commercially viable.

This is a high‑impact role with visibility across product, brand, category and market profitability. You will bring financial rigor, commercial insight, and influence to drive better decisions and stronger performance.  

Key to the success of your role will be your ability to deliver accurate and timely budgets, forecasts and insights that improve sales, margins and brand profitability, while building trust as a true commercial partner who drives stronger financial acumen across Sales and Marketing.

As Finance Business Partner you will:

  • Provide commercial business partnering support to the Bulk Wine Supply team, Marketing team, and Domestic Branded support, delivering value‑add analysis to help meet volume and net sales targets
  • Manage Advertising & Promotional Spend, and lead Portfolio Optimisation reviews, assessing spend effectiveness, recommending product deletions or reallocations
  • Own the Month Reviews / Mid‑Month Calls for Bulk Wine Supply, lead month‑end review meetings, identify risks and opportunities, and push for actionable insights
  • Support Trade Spend & Marketing Spend control, ensure correct accruals, allocations, recognition, and optimum return
  • Lead Budgeting & Forecasting efforts, from driver challenge through to brand profitability, cost allocations, multi‑year modelling, and scenario analysis
  • Build, refine and automate commercial tools, processes and workflows, identify efficiencies in forecasting, reporting, risk/opportunity management
  • Produce reports, dashboards and KPI analysis, provide commentary on drivers, variances, trends, and guide decision‑making across the business
  • Champion adoption of Business Intelligence, automation and continuous improvement in reporting and analysis

The ideal fit will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting / finance (CA, CPA or equivalent preferred)
  • Significant experience in a commercial finance or business partnering role in FMCG, retail, consumer goods or CPG environment
  • Strong analytical ability, modelling skills, and the aptitude to simplify complexity
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills — able to present to senior stakeholders and business partners
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, trade spend / promotion modelling, variance analysis
  • Comfort in ambiguity, and a proactive mindset to drive improvements and challenge assumptions
  • Experience with BI / dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc) and advanced Excel skills
