Our Customer Service Delivery (CSD) function is the engine room of New Zealand Post. With our customers' expectations evolving significantly through global digital and eCommerce development, we continue to experience an uptake of online shopping demand driving expected long term parcel growth. We are well into our journey, setting ourselves up for success to be the best delivery partner for New Zealand.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Reporting to our GM Strategy & Operational Excellence, this role is designed to provide strategic direction of our network strategy. As a supply chain industry specialist, you will translate our operating strategy into a network operating model which is fit for purpose, supporting our network design effectively and efficiently.
Working alongside our customer team, you will develop and support the implementation of our network capability roadmap, and alongside your CSD peers you will lead strategic thinking and innovation framework development for network design which defines optimum target state solutions.
We also have a Network Digitisation Strategy, and this role is responsible for defining long-term vision and target state of this. You will identify and define digital capability requirements: network and item visibility, performance reporting and insights, and data driven decision making. This involves working closely with our Data & Technology team to ensure this sits in line with our target state architecture.
As required, this role will also lead specialised projects which relate to your area of expertise. This really is an opportunity to take your supply chain expertise and apply it within a large, complex and forward moving environment.
Mōu - About you
As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have a tertiary level qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain, and you will have utilised this qualification within a role comparable to this one. You will have a proven career track record within the logistics or supply chain industry and are ready to take your experience and apply it within a new environment.
Couple this with, your solid stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of an organisation. You will have demonstrated experience leading via influence and commercial acumen. You love being part of a busy and evolving organisation which is dedicated to making our network as efficient and commercially sustainable as possible. You also have the ability to operate well with ambiguity as some problems will still need defining before being solved.
Specifically, you will have experience within strategy design and advisory roles including capability design. If you've done this within a management consulting environment even better. But your experience will include advising senior leadership teams successfully.
Exposure to change management would be preferable, and a continuous Improvement qualification or experience would be advantageous.
