About the Role

As a Sales & Marketing Representative, you will play a key role in promoting WAM Group's range of industrial equipment and solutions. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and supporting marketing initiatives to enhance our market presence in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients across industrial sectors.
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities to achieve targets and expand market share.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations, proposals, and quotations.
  • Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
  • Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns, trade shows, and digital marketing activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and prepare regular reports for management.
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for our customers, understanding their needs and recommending the most suitable products.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, understandable solutions for clients.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed proposals, reports, and technical advice.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Keep clients informed about new products and technological advancements.

Business Development & Growth

  • Actively manage and grow existing customer accounts by maintaining strong relationships.
  • Canvas the market to identify and secure new customers and business opportunities.
  • Consistently work towards and meet sales targets, reporting on progress to management.
  • Attend and represent WAM Australia at industry trade shows and customer briefings.
  • Meticulously update the CRM with all customer communications and contact information.

Sales & Team Operations

  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, from preparing quotations to processing orders for dispatch.
  • Liaise with interstate colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with stocktakes and ordering when required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
  • Help maintain company database records and prepare reports as requested.
Skills & Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, marketing, or business development (industrial, manufacturing, or engineering sectors preferred).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate when required.

  • Experience in bulk material handling, mechanical equipment, or process engineering.

  • Strong ability to understand technical reports, drawings, and customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of the industrial sales process and a passion for business development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients, contractors, and all levels of our internal business.
  • A proactive approach to identifying growth opportunities and driving success.
  • A high level of initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical aptitude to understand and present engineering solutions.
