**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
MBIE is looking for a Lead Advisor with excellent relationship building skills to work closely with the Head of Emergency Management and Business Continuity on an ambitious work programme.

Your ability to establish positive, consultative style working relationships with managers at all levels is a key success factor for this role. You'll lead development and implementation of MBIE's business continuity management frameworks, including the Ministry's overarching continuity and incident management plans and related protocols, along with helping to lead the development of the Ministry's default arrangements to ensure the Ministry is well placed to respond in an emergency, business disruption or catastrophic event. You'll also lead planning to ensure the Ministry can recover from disruptive events, and play it's part in the wider government response and recovery to an event. And in the event of an enterprise-level incident, you'll help by taking on a key role in MBIE incident management response.

Specifically, the functions of this position are to exercise a wide range of business continuity and organisational resilience practitioner skills and expertise to support the Head of Emergency Management to create and maintain a proactive continuity preparedness culture.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- At least three years' experience working at a senior level with proven Business Continuity and Organisational Resilience knowledge and experience.
- Experience writing agency/enterprise-level incident and business continuity management plans within a large central-government agency context
- Knowledge and understanding of the NZ emergency management sector and the National Security System / ODESC system
- Sound understanding of the NZ regulatory environment including the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 and the Protective Security Requirements (Gov 3)
- Knowledge and demonstratable experience using CIMS (Coordinated Incident Management System)
- In-depth knowledge of international standards and best practice (including the ISO22301, and Good Practice Guide from the BCI); including having completed the BCI certification in business continuity management.
- The ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create good quality written documentation and content in a range of formats.
- The ability to identify risks and opportunities, and provide innovative solutions to problems.
