This position provides expert advice to the Secretary of Internal Affairs, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and senior leaders on activating and directing the Department’s response to major or emergency incidents, as well as on resilience planning and business continuity.
As a technical specialist, you will maintain and continuously improve the Department’s Business Continuity Management System, providing assurance to managers and senior leadership.
You will drive continuous improvement in business continuity and incident management practices and build strong partnerships across the Department and with external agencies to enhance resilience and recovery.
**Key skills and capabilities required**:
- Experience leading, developing, implementing, and maintaining business continuity plans and processes.
- Experience coaching and mentoring individuals and teams in business continuity and incident management.
- A CIMS qualification and experience in supporting enterprise coordinated incident management responses.
- Good working knowledge of government structures and processes.
- Ability to think strategically with strong problem-solving abilities, and deliver high quality work under pressure.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders and lead the implementation of practical solutions to drive change.
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
