**Starting salary**: $80,571- $94,084 negotiable depending on the successful applicant's skills and experience.

Te tūnga | The role
This role is permanent based in Christchurch or Wellington. Te tīma Oranga Me Ngā Whare Noho (the Wellbeing and Housing team) is seeking a Design Analyst with an interest in wellbeing data, strong data analysis skills, and a can-do attitude to join a passionate, supportive, and high-performing team.

**Role**: A Design Analyst focuses on analysing and improving the design of products, services, and experiences, while an insights analyst focuses on analysing data to uncover insights that inform business decisions.

**Output**: A Design Analyst's output is typically a redesign of a product, service, or experience that improves its usability and user satisfaction, while an insights analyst's output is typically a report or presentation that summarizes findings from data analysis and provides recommendations for action.

**Goals**: A Design Analyst's goal is to create a better user experience, while an Insights Analyst's goal is to help the business make better decisions based on data.

**Process**: A Design Analyst typically works through a design thinking process that involves empathizing with users, defining problems, ideating solutions, prototyping and testing, while an Insights Analyst typically works through a data analysis process that involves defining the problem, collecting and cleaning data, analysing the data, and communicating findings.
In summary, a Design Analyst focuses on improving the design of products, services, and experiences, while an insights analyst focuses on analysing data to uncover insights that inform business decisions. Both roles require different skill sets and have different goals and outputs.
