**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

You will work alongside academic staff within the Foundation area, predominantly in the Workskills Programme, supporting tutors in individual and group teaching situations. This may be in classroom, community and work experience contexts. This role is term time only.

**Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills and Experience**
- An in-depth understanding of the issues surrounding people with an intellectual/learning disability
- Current disability practice and knowledge
- Training or experience in a teaching support role to be able to take appropriate initiative, working intuitively on tutor-assigned tasks.
- Experience in working with people with an intellectual/learning disability
- Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating own and others' learning.
- Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
- The ability to implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
- Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities, and meet deadlines.
- Embraces Ara values/kaupapa
- Works autonomously, collaboratively and cooperatively, contributes to teams
- Full driver licence and willingness to drive the Ara 12-seater vans.
