**About the role**

As the Assistant Accountant - Property, you’ll be part of the Group Finance Team that is responsible for the accounting and reporting of Foodstuffs North Island and its related entities.

Eager to learn, develop and challenge the status quo, you’ll thrive in a team that ensures adherence and provides continuous improvement to robust financial policies, procedures and controls, ensuring the business makes smart decisions based on accurate financials.

We are looking for the next financial superstar, ready to cut their teeth in an entry level finance role where you will learn the foundations of corporate finance from raising purchase orders, journal entries to reporting. As the Assistant Accountant, you will be the key support for month end close and year-end audit, go to person for AR/AP, assist with the joint ventures and associate entities’ financial accounts, preparation of tax returns and GST returns, and take full ownership of bank reconciliations and statistic returns.

**About you**

Confident working with data, you’ll be systems savvy (SAP would be super cool but not essential), have a good working knowledge of Excel and will have exceptional communication skills with a customer focus. You’ll exude positivity and will constantly be striving to learn and develop in our fast paced and challenging environment. Your understanding of key accounting will make your transition in Foodies seamless.
