**The Company**

My client is a subsidiary company of a large multinational company with a well known brand in NZ. The business operates in the export sector and has a close knit team who support the operations in both Auckland and Tauranga. This role will focus on supporting Tauranga.

**The Role**

The role of Assistant Financial Accountant is broad and will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the following:

- Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and GL accounts
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, including capes & disposals
- Upload month end journals
- Ensure all intercompany recharges are accounted for.
- Distribution of month end reports to business unit managers
- Assist in the preparation of timely & accurate KPI reports and analysis where required
- Ensure the sales/invoicing systems reflects FX rates, rebates, freight charges and invoicing as required.
- Set up new debtors & creditors in the systems and ensure any payments are made as required
- Complete GST, FBT returns
- Assist with the company insurances
- Assist with the interim & year end audit requirements as required
- Assist with internal controls
- Assist with preparing rolling daily cashflow forecasts
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Other ad hoc duties as required.

**Skills & Experience**

We are looking for an individual who loves problem solving and having variety in their role. You will have worked in an Assistant accountant role and either be looking for a new challenge or a step up. You must be able to understand process flows, following transactions through multiple systems and really enjoy problem solving. It is essential you have strong systems skills (as the company has a few different systems) and that you have strong communication skills to partner the export managers based in Tauranga.
