**The opportunity**

Tauranga is the largest city in the Bay of Plenty and one of the fastest-growing population centres in the country. With a booming local economy, the region is popular with families, holidaymakers and retirees. Over 200 people from 10 different engineering disciplines work out of our Tauranga office, which has a depth of knowledge and exciting office culture that enables our people to play a huge role in the day to day life of people in the Bay.

To support our growth within the region and our significant project wins we are looking for an** Intermediate Civil Engineer** to join us and work with key clients in the transport infrastructure sector. Project work typically encompasses medium to large projects across the Bay of Plenty and further afield, but you will also have the opportunity to work on other projects throughout New Zealand across the Pacific. With the strong focus that we have on our people, we are open to discussing different flexible work arrangements for this role.

Working with some of NZ’s best civil engineers to deliver flagship projects, you will:

- Undertake varied civil engineering tasks of increasing scope and complexity under the guidance of senior staff
- Contribute to the analysis of information, production of design, reports, tenders and proposals
- Demonstrate basic business skills to deliver projects to quality, budget and programme requirements.
- Develop relationships to provide quality services to internal and external clients
- Communicate positively and effectively ensuring that team members, managers and clients are well informed of your project tasks.
- Consolidate and extend technical skills and show initiative in seeking learning opportunities
- Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, networking and consulting skills
- Develop and mentor others to grow successful careers

**About you**.

You love to learn and share knowledge and someone who can bring a fresh perspective. You are a qualified Civil Engineer with around 3 to 6 years of experience. You are passionate for design and problem-solving, have an enquiring mind, able to problem solve and think laterally. How you work is also important to us - we will value your enthusiasm and motivation to continue to learn from your peers and more senior members of the team.
