Delivering on tomorrows infrastructure our client is a large nationwide company specialising in civil construction, with award winning road, rail and bridge capabilities including upgrading urban roads, vital rail links and roads of national significance throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for a design and planning manager with experience in civil engineering who will be responsible for design, planning and programming of current and future projects.
The role:

- Support the precast manager in day-to-day operations
- Effectively manage the detailing and design technicians
- Interpret, check, and approve drawing documentation
- Ensure shop drawings reflect standard moulds, procedures, practices, and information
- Liaising with contract and prestress design engineers
- Managing and attending pre contract meetings with the estimator
- Assisting the Production Manager on Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements and implementation
- Complete internal audits and improvements
- Review and update precast programs
- Scheduling of production to ensure smooth consistent operations
- Prioritize project delivery working towards deadlines
- Process orders and signoff using internal program
- NZ Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) (Or internationally recognized)
- Experience and proficient with CAD
- Project Management Institute PMP certification desired
- Experience with large structures and civil construction
- Sound knowledge of reinforcing and prestress concrete construction
- Understanding operating procedures for each mould including stressing capacities
- Ability to identify imposed loadings and combinations
- High standard of attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to coordinate several projects
