Senior Civil Engineer

Aurecon is an engineering and advisory consultancy with over 800 employees across Aotearoa. The Land & Water service group is looking for a Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer to join our practice and support the design of stormwater infrastructure on projects across Aotearoa.

About the role

In this permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) position, you will join our Land & Water team in Tauranga (or any of our office locations across the country) where you will play an integral part in a national team of highly skilled specialists that
_bring ideas to life_ for our clients. With a focus on growing the stormwater design capability of our business and improving the sustainability and social outcomes of our projects, we are actively recruiting for those passionate about working collaboratively and building on their technical knowledge within this discipline.

- Work on the stormwater drainage design for multiple Land Infrastructure-related projects such as SH1 Papakura to Drury, SH1 O Mahurangi - Penlink, Drury Rail Stations, and various land development projects across Aotearoa for clients such as Waka Kotahi, KiwiRail, Auckland Transport, and Tauranga City Council-
- Turn analyses and preliminary design ideas into developed designs suitable for tender and construction- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using a range of methods including written analyses and reports- Bring your client-centric focus to deliver outstanding client service, stakeholder engagement, and develop new business using your existing industry networks

As a leader, you will have the opportunity to develop deep professional relationships with our clients as we strive to provide exceptional service and negotiate repeat work for our chosen clients. You will interact and collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams including our ground engineering, consent planning, land development, and transportation teams as we work with our clients to understanding their objectives and visions in order to achieve their goals. Your diverse background and strength in design means that you will be comfortable offering your technical expertise to a range of infrastructure projects across the land infrastructure, buildings, transport, and energy & industrial sectors that we operate in.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.- A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Civil Engineer- At least 8 years of relevant design experience within the New Zealand civil and water industries- Excellent experience in engaging with stakeholders and clients in a professional manner- Strong knowledge of design software such as a Civil 3D, 12D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SWIMM- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills- Demonstrated experience in taking leadership roles on project design work- You'll either have, or be very close to achieving, Chartered status with Engineering New Zealand
