- As part of the Fletcher Building group we deliver a wide range of civil construction projects across New Zealand and the South Pacific, specialising in civil structures, 3 waters, ground improvement, foundations, and piling work.

Reporting to the Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Manager you will be responsible for providing high level professional advice to the front-line leaders and workforce and promote movement towards an interdependent HSE culture. Your role will also require you to coach workers on best practice environmental management and help them to ensure all risks are appropriately managed and sustainability opportunities taken up.

**Your main responsibilities will include**:

- Monitor and review the effectiveness of the environmental and sustainability management systems
- Ensure the Environmental Management system is implemented applied consistently across the region
- Provide leadership, knowledge, and advice on environmental and sustainability issues
- Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of the hazard and risk management system
- Ensure that all accidents, near misses, and hazards are identified and managed using correct systems
- Coordinate emergency planning & preparedness for the region
- Participate and promote HSE innovation across the region

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management
- Full Class 1 Driving Licence
- Ideally 3 years’ experience in environmental management within the construction industry
- Excellent knowledge of the NZ legislative environment including RMA, Council guidelines and standards
- Thorough knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices.
- Understanding of environmental sustainability in infrastructure delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with a coaching, influencing emphasis
- The ability to build credibility and trust in the business
