The Government Communications Security Bureau protects and enhances New Zealand's security and wellbeing by providing intelligence to key Government decision makers. Within GCSB, the intelligence function is led by the Intelligence Directorate, and two permanent tier three Director positions have recently become vacant. Both positions report directly to the Deputy Director-General Intelligence and each oversees a distinct aspect of the intelligence cycle.
Director Intelligence Delivery
The Director Intelligence Delivery provides leadership, strategic direction and operational guidance in relation to production and delivery of signals intelligence (SIGINT) in support of the New Zealand SIGINT programme. The Director also assists the Deputy Director-General Intelligence in the executive leadership and direction of the New Zealand SIGINT programme, deputising as necessary.
To be successful, you will
- Be a successful intelligence professional with experience in the integration of intelligence within the New Zealand National Security System
- Have an innate understanding of the role of the workforce in the delivery of intelligence, and be willing and able to prioritise staff and vocational development in order to achieve superior service delivery
- Be effective at identifying, managing and escalating risk and exercising judgment in ambiguous, fast paced, high profile operational contexts
- Have a calm effective communication style, capable of contextualising information for decision makers and across government
- Be experienced in effective cross-agency governance, building trust in interagency forums and navigating diverse stakeholder sets
- Have strong engagement skills in domestic and international settings

Director Intelligence Collection
The Director Intelligence Collection provides leadership, strategic direction and operational guidance in relation to all intelligence collection in support of the New Zealand Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) programme. The Director also assists the Deputy Director-General Intelligence in the executive leadership and direction of the New Zealand SIGINT programme, deputising as necessary.

**To be successful, you will**:

- Be experienced in the oversight of technology capability from both a development and operational perspective
- Have a demonstrated ability to unite multidisciplinary teams in the pursuit of complex outcomes
- Possess great people leadership skills and prioritise setting a positive work culture
- Be effective at instituting systems and processes, and adept at managing stakeholders with competing priorities
- Have strong engagement skills in domestic and international settings
