Our Ground Engineering and Tunnelling team in Wellington is expanding and we are looking for a Associate Director Geologist. As a Associate Director you will be a key member of our multi-disciplined engineering team. To be successful in the role you will utilise your technical and industry experience during the whole life cycle of a project from scoping, organisation and supervision of investigations, to desktop studies, derivation of ground models, geohazard assessments, and report writing.

We have a wide range of projects across the infrastructure sector shaping New Zealand's landscape including a number of major symbolic projects, as well as opportunities to gain exposure to, and experience on global - mega projects. As a result, your skills as an Engineering geologist with experience in completing geotechnical designs and proficiency with relevant software packages will be highly valued.

As a Associate Director Geologist, you will also provide technical mentoring for junior team members on projects to deliver high-standard outcomes for AECOM clients. You will also be involved in regular client and contractor liaison, and business development activities.

**As a Associate Director Geologist you will**:

- Comply with the AECOM Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) policy by adopting best work practices
- Hold a general understanding of other civil infrastructure disciplines (e.g. geometrics, stormwater, pavement) to effectively deliver civil designs
- Use previous site experience to incorporate constructability and ‘fit for purpose’ solutions into the design
- Appreciation of quality processes and ensure deliverables are checked and verified
- Effectively produce proposals, reports, documents or materials in business and industry-specific language
- Monitor your time to ensure project/task profitability, communicating performance against plan to Project Managers
- Foster teamwork among members and across the organisation
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements**
- Experience in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, field investigation and construction supervision
- Experience with evaluation of alternative solutions, design development and preparation of schedules of quantities, preparation of tender/contract documents and administration of contracts
- Experience in utilising scientific principles, theories, practices, using geotechnical design software and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
- Preferably in excess of 10 years' professional experience in an Engineering Geologist role
- Some experience in key client contract management
- Experience in delivering projects or a section of a project
- Experience working as a Consultant

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Postgraduate degree in Engineering Geology, BE or ME or similar related qualification
- Senior, 5+ years professional experience
- Principal, 7+ years prof
