**We are looking for an Engineering Team Leader - Civil to join and become part of our One Winning Team**
- Full time
- Based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Pōneke (Wellington) or Ōtautahi (Christchurch)
- Leadership Role

**What you’ll do**

Reporting to the Engineering Civil Sector Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and developing a skilled team of 6-10 engineering professionals.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Provide leadership for the Engineering Civil Team.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation to meet customer demands.
- Support the attraction and retention of engineering personnel aligned with best practice workforce planning.
- Responsible for professional development of the Civil Engineering team including the Engineering Geologist, Geotechnical and Water Engineers to ensure they meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Engineering technical tasks in line with our core functions.
- Support and drive the development of Engineering to a collaborative culture of commercial intelligence, customer-focus, and accountability.

**What you’ll need**

You’ll have a relevant Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering. You’ll ideally be a Chartered Engineer with Professional registration with a relevant organisation along with 5+ years’ experience in Civil Engineering and/or Design and 3+ years’ experience in Project Management.

**In addition you will have**:

- Team leadership experience is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Experience developing works plans to achieve output targets.
- Ability to foster and manage relationships with across the business.
- Prior experience developing and implementing work plans in a rail environment is beneficial.
- Prior work and/or knowledge in asset management is desirable.
