**The company**

An innovative and experienced forest management company who acts on behalf of their owners and manages one of New Zealand’s most iconic plantation forests. Forestry operations across their central North Island plantation include the management of the plantation, harvesting and a modern Timber Processing Facility.

**The opportunity**
This innovative and advanced timber processing facility is looking for a competent Process Engineer to work alongside it’s production team. In this newly created role, you will have the ability to harness modern technology, dedicate time to continuous improvement and operate in a highly autonomous environment.

Within this role you will have the ability to work directly with senior management and across the business by identifying areas where process improvements will assist in improving the ongoing development of the Processing Plant. You will have the autonomy to identify and plan projects right through to implementation phase.

We are looking for someone who has a specialisation in engineering (Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical, Electrician). You will drive automation development across the processing plant to ensure continuous improvement and to meet ongoing demand.

**Some key responsibilities in the roles include**:

- Review current processes and provide technical solutions to improve safety, production and create efficiencies
- Work with the Operations Manager and Processing Manager to identify opportunities for improvement and develop practical working solutions
- Provide relevant feedback to manager on all areas of the plant including performance and downtime
- Continually develop understanding of machine data to monitor plant and individual performance, to enhance use of data as a means to continuous improvement
- Managing databases (ACCESS) to ensure data integrity within optimisation and production
- Ensuring all quality management systems and procedures are adhered to
