Service Manager

Based in Hamilton and working across the Hamilton Waikato West Area
- 80 hours per fortnight (involvement in on-call roster required)
- Starting salary of $81,704 per annum
- Work vehicle, phone and laptop provided

We are looking for a real 'people' person, to build strong relationships with the people we support, their whānau and external agencies. This role is suited to someone who values connection, communication, and compassion.

As a Service Manager, your role involves creating a positive team environment, meeting individual needs, and building relationships with families. Prior people management experience is required, and a background in Health and Disability is preferred. Key attributes include a genuine desire to make a positive difference, a can-do attitude, and adaptability. You'll report to the Area Manager and collaborate with other Service Managers and the Regional/National team to support a supportive work environment.

What you’ll be doing:

- Inspire, guide, and coach a team of Support Workers to deliver excellent care and support
- Plan and oversee the delivery of services that help people with disabilities reach their goals
- Build positive, respectful relationships with the people we support, their whānau, and partner agencies
- Manage rostering, staff training, and ensure best practice across your team
- Champion health and safety, and model our organisation’s values in everything you do
- As part of the on-call schedule, you will provide essential support and advice during evenings and weekends

** Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring**
- Passion for the services provided by IDEA Services and the people supported
- Relevant tertiary qualification within a health or disability service discipline would be advantageous
- Previous relevant experience working positively with people who have an intellectual disability, and/or complex behavioural needs
- Strong organisational and technical skills (rostering, budgeting, recruitment)
- Proven experience in people management and leading diverse teams
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience in delivering outcomes in a high-pressure and changing environment
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
