**The role**:
We are looking for a Technical Engineer to provide our team and service providers with strategic and detailed technical support in regard to designing, maintaining, replacing and developing our electricity network’s distribution equipment and infrastructure. **A little more about the role**:

- Review and develop specifications for the design, installation and maintenance of our underground network, switchgear, and ground mounted equipment enclosures
- Evaluate, assess and identify solutions for new equipment whilst ensuring optimal lifecycle management of equipment
- Provide technical advice and reviews of maintenance and construction practices and specifications for distribution equipment and underground sub-transmission network
- Evaluate, design and project manage a variation of projects through to completion
- Provide technical assistance and prepare technical reports detailing failure mode analysis
- Conduct Safety in Design evaluations of new equipment and designs

**A little about you**:

- NZQA Level 6 or 7 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent knowledge within proven minimum 3 years in a similar role
- NZ Electrical registration, preferable with a current practicing certificate
- In-depth understanding of the NZ electricity environment including knowledge of Electricity Act and industry safety regulations
- Strong technical knowledge of underground cables, systems, and reticulation equipment, from low voltage up to 66kV
- A continuous improvement and learning and development focus
- A customer centric approach with a positive attitude and sense of humour
- A commitment to health and safety
