**About the Team**:
The Technology Group is responsible for the effective delivery, management, and services of all technology disciplines within the air navigation services environment. This includes: engineering design, software design and development, technology architecture and infrastructure, asset management, installation and maintenance, technical training, workload planning, maintenance program development, project management, and logistics support.

The technical training team provides instructional services to the broader Technology Group to ensure our people have the correct knowledge and skills to support Airways’ operational equipment, systems, and services. This team consists of the manager, five instructors and two draughts people.

**About the Role**:
We have a permanent full-time role available for a Technical Instructor to join us at our Christchurch campus in Burnside.

Reporting to the Manager Technical Training, key tasks will see you:

- Deliver technical training relating to air traffic control systems, communication systems, navigational aids, surveillance systems and other aviation technologies.
- Develop and update training materials, including manuals, assessments, presentations, and e-learning resources.
- Create maintenance and support documentation - written to conform with the requirements of ICAO, NZ CAA, our Engineering Units and ISO9001.
- Deliver training and on the job training which may require some travel.
- Collaborate with operational and technical teams to identify training needs to ensure training programs meet safety and operational requirements.
- Participate in audits, assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives for training programs.
- Occasionally deliver technical training to external clients.

**About You**:
To be successful in the role, you will hold:

- Prior transferrable experience which included authoring technical documents and maintaining safety standards, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and policies.
- A tertiary qualification in a technology discipline, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite including MS Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
- A good understanding of air traffic control systems, communication technologies, or similar aviation-related systems.
- The ability to manage and document training activities, track progress, and prepare reports.
- Strong time management skills needed to balance a variety of tasks, stakeholders and timeframes.
- Ability to work in a dynamic learning environment, influence and collaborate with people internally and externally, show resilience and agility, take ownership and focus on delivering successful training outcomes.

We will be appointing either a Technical Instructor or a Senior Technical Instructor based upon qualifications, knowledge and previous experience.
