**About this role**
This role is responsible for leading our tauira & kaimahi-centred design, through the visualisation, and execution of strategic digital experiences.
Working in partnership with the Product Managers in Taupārongo (IT), this role will excel as a passionate designer, collaborator, tauira & kaimahi advocate, and a continuous learner. As a key member of the digital experience team, the Product Designer is focused on understanding the needs of kaimahi and tauira and creating delightful experiences that match needs with business goals, while reinforcing the Te Wānanga o Aotearoa brand, and te ao Māori.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelors degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or 5+ years equivalent professional experience
- Masters in Human Factors, HCDE, or Cognitive Psychology a plus
**Experience**:
- 3+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
- Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design.
- Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
- Experience in a highly Agile/scrum environment.
- Strong experience in understanding business partner and client needs.
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
