**About The Role**:
Reporting to the General Manager Future Network and leading a team of around 11, this role is about strategic and technical leadership to develop and implement the architecture of the future network, focussing on both network and customer solutions, to prepare for a changing energy environment. Key areas of focus include:
- Strong leadership of the team, fostering a customer-focused team environment;
- Provision of world class strategic asset management leadership for the network today (& tomorrow);
- Thought leadership on how the changing external environment will impact on the network, and how to best prepare for this;
- Facilitating decarbonisation, enabling net zero transition and reducing the environmental impact of the operations;
- Investigation and development of new technical and customer driven network solutions (network assets and non-network solutions);
- Maximising the use of the network with smart technologies, solutions and better data;
- Finding opportunities to improve network performance, network architecture & planning, driving cost effectiveness, efficiency and innovation;
- Proactive collaboration with external stakeholders, being a ‘force for good’ in the communities served.
**Skills & Experience**:
- An engineering degree preferably in electrical/power field;
- Deep competency with strategic planning, be comfortable with ambiguity, have a relentless curiosity and comfort to challenge the status quo;
- Proven ability to guide teams on delivering organisational objectives and will be an empowering and inclusive leader;
- Strong commercial acumen and numerical literacy;
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer centric approach;
- Confident presentation skills, experienced making recommendations to board/executive level.
