Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Cost Engineer (Network Transformation & Investment) reporting to our Investment Strategy Lead. This role will assist in the development and maintenance of our cost estimation database, to provide costing estimates across Orion’s projects and programmes. You will build a close working relationship with our Cost Engineer (Network Programming) ensuring the consistent development of platforms.

**The role**:

- Analyse works price breakdown structures capturing costs for accounting and future forecasting
- Preserving and improving our project elimination database or a future system equivalent; this ensures cost building blocks are available and on-going CPI and inflation adjustments are accounted for
- Develop and review estimates for projects and programmes (alongside our Network Development and Asset Management & Performance team)
- Develop high level estimates for new complex connections

**About you**:

- Graduate diploma Level 7 or bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or construction economics or the equivalent knowledge gained in a similar role
- Electricity industry experience with an understanding of the NZ Regulatory environment
- Strong understanding of contracts and reporting skills with commercial acumen and an analytical approach
- Depth of knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other data analysis tools
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
