Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
As a member of the Health Payments Integrity Team (HPIT) this role has shared accountability for ensuring that health funds are applied legitimately and appropriately in relation to over $10 billion of annual payments made by Sector Operations to primary and community health care providers.
HPIT uses a risk-based approach to deliver its audit and investigation services across the motu to provide funders with a level of assurance that payments made to primary and community health care providers are for services that in fact have been provided to eligible people.
Mōu | About you
The Senior Risk & Intelligence Analyst is responsible for identifying, analysing, evaluating and managing risks within the $10+ billion of annual payments made by Sector Operations. By combining risk identification initiatives and an understanding of contracts, payment systems, and data analysis, the Senior Risk & Intelligence Analyst will influence audit and investigation staff in ensuring that effective mechanisms are in place to detect and appropriately deal with inappropriate claiming on behalf of primary and community health care funders.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, information technology or related field with proven experience using Microsoft Access and Excel
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work and come to an understanding of unfamiliar and complex concepts and environments
- Analytical and enquiring mindset, with a willingness to ask probing questions to understand the underlying information.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively at all levels across a large multi-disciplinary organisation
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- A demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services, delivery of results and improving equity of health outcomes.
- An understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
- Security Clearance - able to obtain a ‘Confidential' security clearance to attend local area Combined Law Agency Group (CLAG), NHCC, and other government agency work when required
