**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The Government Services Group provides expert advisory and support services to Te Whatu Ora and relevant Ministers. It delivers a broad range of services and deliverables, including briefing Ministers, responding to Official Information Act requests and Parliamentary Questions, and is the foundation for Te Whatu Ora's involvement in parliamentary processes. The Group is comprised of three teams organised by portfolios: OIA Services; Parliamentary Services and Correspondence; and Reporting, Briefings, Select Committee and Ombudsman. We manage high volumes of products - around 4,000-5,000 OIAs per year, over 3,000 WPQs and 2,000 ministerials. This is a fast-paced environment with expectations of meeting deadlines and providing Ministers and the public with quality products.
The primary purpose of the Manager - Government Services is to support positive outcomes in the health system by ensuring Te Whatu Ora Board and management, and its Ministers meet their machinery of government requirements.
As a new and fast-growing group in Te Whatu Ora you will be responsible for building a team of high-performing advisors and ensuring the Group has the necessary policies and processes for managing workloads.

As Manager, you will play a leadership role in supporting the Government Services Group, and the wider organisation as a whole. You will be expected to lead a team to deliver high-quality ministerial work, and to support the professional development of advisors and senior advisors. You will work alongside the other Government Services managers to deliver the organisational priorities of Te Whatu Ora, and to drive continuous improvement in processes and practices within the Office of the Chief Executive.

You will be a seasoned people leader with extensive experience in government services, preferably within a health-related organisation. Your excellent interpersonal and influencing skills will be key, alongside your ability to manage high volume, fast paced work and meeting deadlines. You approach your work with a view to actively learning and developing, including self-identifying areas you would like to strengthen and grow in this role.

- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as policy, business, law etc and/or relevant experience
- Expertise in government structures and processes, and the ability to impart this experience to others clearly and effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of the machinery of Government, risk management and managing at the political interface
- Understanding of and commit to improving equity of outcomes and Māori Health
