**The Engagement group is made up of a range of functions**: Insight, Strategy, Engagement; Communications; Government Engagement and Official Correspondence; and Information Management.

Our work aims to inspire action and empower people to protect themselves and the environment.

About the role | Mō te tūnga
In this role you will deliver three key corporate services that support and contribute to the achievement of organisational strategies and objectives. The services you will deliver are government engagement and ministerial support, official correspondence, and information management.

This position ensures specialist knowledge among the team is current, relevant and accessible. The manager will identify and provide strategic insight into government priorities, concerns or issues to support successful navigation of EPAs strategic intentions. You will also lead the management of the EPA’s organisational records and other information assets, and maintain the efficiency of the information management systems.

The Manager will ensure that the EPA provides accessible, accurate and clear information so all our stakeholders know what the EPA is doing and why.

About you | Mōhou ake
We are looking for someone with a range of skills and experience
- We are looking for a master networker, highly experienced in building lasting relationships. You are comfortable engaging at all senior levels from ministers to chief executives, and stakeholders in other regulatory authorities.

You will have successfully navigated the government landscape, bringing people together to achieve strategic goals. If you have some or all the below skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.
- Proven experience in leading, engaging, motivating, and managing people, including coaching and mentoring
- Strategic thinker able to connect the dots across complex environments
- Political knowledge and understanding of machinery of government and/ or the Ministerial and official information servicing environment
- A natural connecter and influencer, able to effectively facilitate the relationship between the EPA, its Ministers and the Monitoring Agency
- Strategy development, implementation, and future thinking
- Understanding of the principles of good information management and/ or have a passion for managing information as a strategic asset for organisational benefit
- Knowledge of leading and managing change for business improvement

‘Nice to have’ but non-essential skills
- Well-practised in displaying, developing and managing strategic approaches to engagement with agencies across the government sector
- Excellent writing skills and experience in using narrative
- Proven experience managing a Ministerial team, an information management team, or an engagement function, within a public sector environment
- Understanding of systems and processes to manage the EPA’s information assets

Salary range
$134,725 - $202,087 per annum (midpoint $168,406).

This is the full salary range. Appointments are made within the range depending on skills and experience.
