Mō te tūranga | About the role
Our work is focused on the telecommunications sector being competitive and customer focused. We do this for the wellbeing of New Zealanders and our economy. When New Zealanders sign up with a telecommunications provider, we want them to be confident that it's the right provider and plan for their phone and broadband needs. We want them to access information that helps them make those choices, and to have confidence to review their arrangements regularly or whenever life changes.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst or Chief Adviser with excellent insight and analysis skills to join the team. You will be comfortable analysing information from telecommunications providers and consumer research, identifying trends and issues and drafting internal and external reports. This is a close-knit team reporting into the Market Performance Manager, where you'll be recognised for your input and advice, and you would also be called upon to mentor and develop team members.
As part of the Telecommunications Team, you'll help to improve the service that telecommunications providers deliver. You will help us monitor the competition, performance and developments of the market and make information available to consumers in a way that informs their choices.
This role can be based in either our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) or Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) offices. This role will report into the Market Performance Manager, the Market Performance team is one of three teams within the Telecommunications Team, that sits in the Market Regulation Branch.
He kōrero mōu | About you
You enjoy working in a team environment, building trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and the opportunity to influence.
You may have worked in the Telecommunications or similar industry in regulatory/government relations, marketing, research, or customer experience. You'll be proactive and solutions-focused and be able to analyse, generate insight and then communicate clearly. You will be inquisitive with sound critical thinking skills and be comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
**You will also have some of the following**:
- desire to improve telecommunications for New Zealand consumers;
- ability to prioritise, focus on high value outputs and resolve challenging problems;
- ability to create clear and concise presentations and reports;
- experience in generating insight from data and/or consumer research;
- confident with analysing numerical data;
- policy or regulatory experience, either directly or through working in a regulated industry.
For our more senior Chief Adviser role, you will have the opportunity to help shape strategic approaches too and will take pride in providing quality mentorship.
