**About the role**

Part of our Property Team, you’ll deliver massive new and replacement store rollouts and refurbishment cycles across the North Island. Leading and coaching a team of designers, you’ll also spearhead projects and initiatives, identify areas for improvement, analyse retail data, metrics, and insights, stay current with technological advancements, and effectively resolve complex challenges.

To help us build a new breed of supermarket that encompasses new technologies that serve the needs of our communities, you will:

- Oversee the implementation of design, equipment, and services for all new store builds and refurbishments, ensuring they meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and efficiency
- Serve as the guardian of store metrics and retail data, ensuring the relevant insights are utilised in the design of stores and renovations for maximum impact
- Partner with store owners and a wide range of external and internal teams and stakeholders to plan and carry out projects that are completed efficiently and within budget
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, vendors and other partners to achieve mutually beneficial results

**About you**

As an experienced Design Manager, you’ll be confident in managing a large programme of work through all the design phases to completion and have a solid understanding of how to leverage retail design to deliver an amazing shopping experience that exceed our customers expectations.

You’ll also:

- Be technically savvy, proficient in MS project, AutoCAD and all MS Office software
- Have comprehensive understanding of equipment, building services, and refrigeration systems in the context of retail design
- Have a proven track record of delivering successful projects on time and on budget
- Be a natural leader who is able to take people on a journey, influence key stakeholders and drive results
- Be flexible, adaptive to change and be up-to-date with current trends and advancements in technology
