The hotel has spectacular 360 views of the seaward Kaikōura mountain range, waterfront and peninsula and proudly presents large scale, local Māori artwork throughout the hotel, with a high-quality fit-out, 120 well-appointed rooms, restaurant, bar, conference facilities and infinity pool.

**About The Role - Te mahi**

A fantastic full-time opportunity awaits an experienced Food and Beverage Duty Manager at Hiku Kaikōura, a brand new stylish waterfront restaurant, bar and hotel conference facility.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in a similar role, a passion for exceeding guests' expectations, demonstrated food and beverage leadership and organisation skills, and a passion for manaakitanga - providing great hospitality.

The Duty Manager ensures the successful operation of the food and beverage service across the hotel as we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the year.

**Responsibilities | **Ngā haepapa**
- Provide a warm engaging experience to all guests
- Lead the food and beverage service team across all food and beverage outlets including restaurant, bar, room service, and conference
- Open and close outlets ensuring effective set up and organisation for shifts
- Create a positive team environment
- Ensure all team members deliver a high level of guest service at all times
- Daily banking and cash up
- Organise cover of team members when required
- Support training and development of food and beverage team including onboarding
- Upholding Host Responsibility and Duty Manager license

**Requirements**:
**About you | Ko koe tēnei**
- Experienced in a la carte and buffet restaurant service
- Experienced bartender, ideally with excellent knowledge of local wines, beers and cocktail preparation
- Conference coordination experience would be advantageous
- Attentive and professional
- Competent barista
- Flexibility and availability on weekends, public holidays and late evenings
- General Manager Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- Valid Right to Work in NZ
