**Korero mō te tūranga - About the role**

This role reports to the Northern Regional Director (RD) and provides policy, analytical and service advice to support the RD to undertake their role. The role will need to work closely with the other team members in the region and with national advisors and General Managers.

This role is focused on providing the RD with necessary qualitative and quantitative advice, reporting, briefings and expertise to help them oversee the region; to report to national office leaders as required by the regional director. Any advice and analysis should be founded in Maori public & population health philosophy, Te Ao Māori, Matauranga Maori and Te Tiriti compliance.

- Strong understanding of NZ's health system and accountabilities
- Strong analytical and thought leadership development skills
- Strong understanding of machinery of government processes
- Strong written and oral communication skills including experience and evidence in writing government briefings, papers and reports
- Flexibility and an ability to work autonomously to make decisions
- A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification and/or significant relevant work experience
- Adaptable to changing environments and competing demands
- Ability to solve problems through to resolution
- Ability to develop high quality visual presentations and present publicly with confidence
- Time management skills and ability to prioritise
