Senior Experience Designer

We’re looking for a Senior Experience Designer passionate about research for a full time, permanent role in Wellington. We’re open to flexible working.

**About this role**

We’re looking for a Senior experience designer with a passion for UX research who can:

- use deep expertise in Experience Design, to help make the things that matter, better.
- deliver complex and challenging projects from concept to delivery.
- deliver best practice HCD (Human Centred Design) methodologies to clients and to start mentoring others on HCD methodologies.
- understand a wide range of HCD methodologies and confidently choose the best methodology to solve the problem.
- plan and conduct a broad range of discovery and evaluative research techniques to inform and validate design decisions. This may include: primary research (e.g stakeholder interviews, concept testing, usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies, analytics review), Secondary research (e.g. landscape review, trend reports, design best practices), and Synthesis (e.g. personas, customer journey maps and storyboards, reports).
- plan and conduct design activities to create, prototype, validate, iterate and communicate designs. This includes: information architecture, validation activities, interaction design, prototyping, workshop facilitation, documentation

**Required skills and experience**

Skills and experience we are looking for:

- BA in Industrial, Spatial or Graphic Design or related experience.
- 4-6 years experience with interactive design, preferably having experience with a leading agency or consultancy focused on user experience.
- Experience in UX research. e.g stakeholder interviews, concept testing, usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies, analytics review
- Fully capable of working directly with Experience Design client, vendors and other third party contacts.
- Strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
- Excellent project management approach and thinking with sound analytical and problem solving skills.

- UI Design
- Experience using Figma and Miro (or similar)
